Because nobody likes poetry, especially bad poetry. The name "The Idol Poet" is inspired by Soren Kierkegaard's comment, "Poetry is idolatry refined." Trott&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I whispered to the tree&lt;br /&gt;The tears inside me that could not fall&lt;br /&gt;I clung to its rough bark&lt;br /&gt;Trunk scratched my lips against it bleeding…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I spoke pain to yellow leaf&lt;br /&gt;Sounds that only broken hearts can hear&lt;br /&gt;Suffering so near silently&lt;br /&gt;Hope yellow flutters down the dirt so near&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I whispered to the tree&lt;br /&gt;Its roots in life beneath the hard gray ground&lt;br /&gt;Its answer was to be -&lt;br /&gt;In silence hard but than words more true&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I suffered as I clung&lt;br /&gt;Dark branches hanging shadow-kissed me&lt;br /&gt;I know there is a God&lt;br /&gt;Because of suffering and this graceful tree&lt;br /&gt;I'm the heart of conversation&lt;br /&gt;But when we're home and lights are low&lt;br /&gt;My words cannot deceive her&lt;br /&gt;Tongue impatient and unkind&lt;br /&gt;Is all she will remember&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Still learning, still yearning&lt;br /&gt;I'm still learning to love&lt;br /&gt;Still burning, still yearning&lt;br /&gt;I'm still learning to love&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br Like the above blog intro sez...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's my first poetic (actually more like lyrical) entry here.
